TETRAtab Limited was formed in April 2007 by Andy Collier and Rob Lovelace. Rob and Andy had identified a gap in the market for a secure mobile data device for Police Officers that would assist in the drive towards Business Change and achieve the efficiencies the Police forces and Government were starting to demand.

The TETRAtab concept was born out of the desire to provide an up to date mobile platform to all public safety services but with the addition of providing fully integrated TETRA technology to ensure the transfer of data securely within an information sensitive environment. A number of devices were reviewed for their suitability for purpose. After extensive research, Samsung's Q1 hand held portable device was selected as the most appropriate.

When sourcing a suitable TETRA radio modem, discussions were held with Motorola who have developed the world's smallest TETRA radio modem which made it fitting for TETRAtab.

TETRAtab was first shown at BAPCO and TETRA World Congress in 2007 as a proof of concept and significant interest was received and firm contacts were established.

With the evolution of the Samsung Q1 to the Q1 Ultra platform, so TETRAtab evolved to provide the most TETRA enabled, feature rich hand portable device to the Public Safety Services.

The integration of technology from TETRAtab is the subject of UK Patent Application Number 0802838.2 to ensure our innovative solution stays at forefront of technology.

TETRAtab offers a secure, light weight, compact yet feature rich solution to the Mobile Data challenge in the Public Safety environment. The combination of powerful branded technology from Samsung and Motorola and the ingenuity of the TETRAtab team has resulted in a market leading package.
